Post Program update: Luanne Eisler visited us on Sunday November 2, 2008 and discussed her book "An Historical Gazetteer of Butler County, Pennsylvania". A nice sized crowd was on hand and found the presentation very interesting. Books were available for sale afterwards for $45, however supplies quickly ran out. Luanne did not request an honorarium, as is typical of most speakers, and the board decided instead to purchase a copy of her book to be dedicated at the December 2nd board meeting and then placed into general circulation in the Cranberry Public Library. The library has a reference copy, but it we thought that our members would enjoy being able to check out the book and read it at home. If you would like to purchase a copy of the book for your own library, it is available for sale at the Butler County Public Library and can be purchased online at Mechling Bookbindery in Chicora (Butler County), PA. Mechling is the publisher of the book and specializes in local history books. You might enjoy a visit to their website to browse the inventory.

Our February Program is still being scheduled, however we believe it will be held on either the 3rd or 4th Sunday in February 2009, thus avoiding the SuperBowl and Pro Bowl weekends. We will keep you posted as the schedule solidifies.
