Candles Burning At Sample

February 19, 2008: Following 7 days of darkness, the candles at Sample have been re-ignited. As you may know, Sample was to be the setting for a few scenes of an Edgar Allan Poe based movie by Fombell native, Ken Heusey, that was set to film on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. The township and historical society provided the desired snow covered lawn (Ok, we had a little help), however production delays resulted in no filming last week. With no certain film date at hand, the candles were returned to restore at least the external appearance of Sample School. The interior remains in 1837 movie mode and ready for filming at a moments notice.
